Human Resource Services consultants have many years’ experience in the evaluation, selection and implementation of personality questionnaires and occupational tests.

Psychometric testing is a powerful tool for the selection, development and management of people in any kind of organisation.  It has a number of critical uses:

  • To enhance the decision-making process for selection and promotion.
  • As an aid to management in areas such as motivation and team building.
  • To assist in identifying an employee’s development needs.
  • As a basis for employee counselling.
  • To support the management of change or succession planning.

When properly used, psychometric testing helps to ensure a common language for assessment standards throughout an organisation.  It can overcome the subjective judgements of an interviewer and ensure a ‘level playing field’ for all concerned.  The main categories of modern ability tests used in occupational selection are verbal, numerical, diagrammatic, mechanical, spatial, clerical, dexterity and sensory.

Occupational Personality Profile:

OPQ is a suite of questionnaires designed to assess the typical or preferred behaviour of individuals in a way that is relevant to the world of work.  Feedback is provided to the individual in a written report or the preferred way of meeting with the candidates and providing face-to-face, in-depth feedback.

Human Resource Services primarily uses Saville & Holdsworth products, integrated with the individual competency requirements of the client’s business.  We also use a number of products by Criterion and the Test Agency.
